Discipleship
Faith Covenant is a community that believes in the organic and vital nature of the Christian life - that growth is a part of the journey to/with Jesus. We seek to find ways to posture ourselves for this growth and to be shaped by God through prayer, Scripture, and community. FCC strives to cultivate opportunites for people of all ages and stages of the journey that are hospitable, challenging, and encouraging. Some of the primary vehicles we are using for this kind of discipleship and spiritual formation work include: Small Groups: Home gatherings focussed on meeting together for prayer and the reading of Scripture. These groups generally meet weekly and have a family feel. Inner-Life Retreats: Day retreats that hone in on cultivating and practicing a variety of Christian disciplines or experiences. These retreats are relaxed times of reflection and often include sharing thoughts and experiences with the community gathered there. Roundtable Discussion: A theological reading group, that offers the chance for dialogue with the thoughts of significant authors and other people from the FCC community. This group is always welcoming to new thinkers willing to delve into challenging material and share their responses on it. Growth Classes: Times of teaching and sharing that focus in on a variety of topics which have bearing on our day to day journey. Topics in the past have included generosity and finance, family life, baptism, the nature of 'mission,' and church history and theology. BLAST: Our weekly children's program utilizes song, puppets, crafts, and lots of fun to teach Scripture and truth to our youngest family members. BLAST runs on Sunday morning during our worship service.
